CHANGING “MALACAÑAN PALACE” TO “MALACAÑANG” AND DIRECTING THE OMISSION OF “EXCELLENCY” IN ADDRESSING THE PRESIDENT.
By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, RAMON MAGSAYSAY, President of the Philippines, do hereby order:
1. The official residence of the President of the Philippines, heretofore referred to as “Malacañan Palace,” shall hereafter be called “Malacañang.”
2. The word “excellency” shall he have omitted in addressing the President of the Philippines. He shall be addressed as “Mr. President.” Letters and other communications will be addressed as follows:
