DESIGNATING THE CHIEF OF STAFF AND THE DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE ARMY OF THE PHILIPPINES.
Under the authority contained in section twenty-two of Commonwealth Act Numbered One, known as "The National Defense Act", as amended by Commonwealth Act Numbered Three hundred twelve, the following appointments in the Army of the Philippines and their assignments to the General Staff Corps are hereby announced;
(a) Brigadier-General Rafael Jalandoni, 0-1054, Infantry, Deputy Chief of Staff, is hereby designated Chief of Staff, vice Major-General Basilio J. Valdes, relieved, and will immediately assume the duties prescribed for that Office in the National Defense Act and in pertinent executive orders.
(b) Colonel Macario Peralta, Jr., Infantry, is hereby designated as Deputy Chief of Staff, vice Brigadier-General Rafael Jalandoni, promoted, and will immediately assume the duties prescribed for that Office in the National Defense Act and in pertinent executive orders.
