EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 96, February 26, 1946

APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATING EXPENSES OF THE BOARD ON PENSIONS FOR VETERANS FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR

WHEREAS, Commonwealth Act No. 710 appropriating two million pesos for the payment of retirement gratuities or pensions to all persons who, under existing laws, have been receiving such gratuities or pensions failed to provide for the operating expenses of the Board on Pensions for Veterans; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary that the said Board be provided with funds to enable it to carry out its functions under the provisions of Commonwealth Act No. 605 and to pay the veterans’ pensions authorized in Commonwealth Act No. 710;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SERGIO OSMEÑA, President of. the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws of the Philippines, do hereby appropriate the sum of ten thousand pesos or so much thereof as may be necessary, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the operating expenses of the Board on Pensions for Veterans for the period from January 1 to June 30, 1946, subject to the provisions of section 7-1(4), as amended, of Commonwealth Act No. 246.
